India stands with Sri Lanka in counter-terrorism: Modi



NEW DELHI: Narendra Modi,  Indian Prime Minister, paid his tributes to victims of terrorism after landing in Sri Lankan capital Colombo today. He visited one of the churches hit during the Easter Sunday celebrations in terror attacks.

Modi said, ‘Cowardly acts of terror cannot defeat the spirit of Sri Lanka. India stands in solidarity with the people of Sri Lanka’. Narendra Modi is the first foreign leader to visit Sri Lanka after the terror attacks.

More than 250 people lost their lives in the attacks on Easter Sunday. A local jihadi group and ISIS affiliate National Thowheeth Jama’ath claimed the responsibility of the attack.  (Agencies)
