MELBOURNE: Australian government has canceled visas of eight Chinese nationals on the charge of smuggling cigarettes.

Australian police seized a large cache of cigarettes from the Chinese nationals upon arrival at Melbourne International Airport recently.

On May 6, eight Chinese nationals had flown to Melbourne from Hong Kong with the cigarettes worth Australian Dollar 170,000.

They have been kept in Australia’s immigration custody following cancellation of their visas. Preparations are underway to deport them to China.
