13 Sri Lankan players in Nepal for SAG diagnosed with dengue



KATHMANDU: 13 Sri Lankan players competing in the 13th edition of the South Asian Games (SAG) have been diagnosed with dengue.

Seven of them have been undergoing treatment at the Tripureshwor-based Blue Cross Hospital while six others have been already discharged.

According to a media report, the health condition of women footballer Gayathri Nanayakkara is serious and is undergoing treatment at the Intensive Care Unit of the hospital. Nanayakkara was in Pokhara for the tournament and was brought to Kathmandu on Thursday evening.

Sri Lanka has said assumed the players got infected with dengue before arriving in Nepal.
