FNJ condemns attacks on journalist Adhikari



KATHMANDU: The Federation of Nepali Journalists has condemned ‘physical and mental attacks’ on journalist Rajendra Prasad Adhikari for writing news.

Adhikari has been under constant observation from police personnel in civvies deployed by Superintendent of Police Dan Bahadur Karki in a bid to put tortures on him, read a statement issued by the FNJ. The incident has drawn serious attention of the FNJ, it said.

The FNJ has also demanded that the police create a safe environment for journalists to discharge their duties respecting press freedom.

Adhikari is a Pokhara-based correspondent for News24 Television. He is also a FNJ member of the Kaski chapter.
