KATHMANDU: Police have arrested the daughter of renowned businessman Roop Jyoti, Suruchi Jyoti.
According to SSP Uttamraj Subedi at Metropolitan Police Range, Kathmandu, Suruchi was arrested by a police team deployed from the range.
Earlier on Thursday night, police had arrested Roop Jyoti who is also a former Assistant Minister for Finance from Tribhuvan International Airport upon his arrival from Singapore.
They have accused of duping people through real estate business.
Last year, Kathmandu District Court had permitted to carry out an investigation in the case by arresting Roop Jyoti.
He had moved the Supreme Court (SC) seeking to vacate the order. The apex court had issued an interim order to the law enforcement authority not to arrest him immediately.
But on Tuesday, SC vacated the interim order that paved the way for police to arrest him.
