India breaks Australia’s world record with massive win over B’desh

NEW DELHI: The Rohit Sharma-led Indian side made a strong comeback after losing its first-ever T20I to Bangladesh at New Delhi on Sunday to register an emphatic 8-wicket win over the visitors in the 2nd T20I at Rajkot on Thursday.

The victory meant India drew level, pushing the three-match series to the decider in Nagpur on Sunday. India chased down the 154-run target in just 15.4 overs with 8 wickets in hand to enter into the record books.

This was India’s 41st victory while chasing in T20Is which is now a world record. India broke Australia’s record of 40 victories while chasing in the shortest format of the game. India not only beat Australia in the number of wins but it also has a better win percentage when it comes to chasing.

India has chased 61 times in T20Is, and it has ended on the winnings side on 41 occasions. Australia, on the other hand, has successfully chased 40 times out of 69 attempts. The third in the list is Pakistan with 36 successful chases in 67 matches.
