BANEPA: The local levels would be assigned with responsibility for the placement of posts of teachers who passed through the Teachers Service Commission’s exam and were sent to the district. The decision was made after the chiefs of the local levels of Kavre district raised voice calling for handover of responsibility of placement to local government units.
Chiefs of the local levels came up with collective voice at a discussion program ‘Teachers’ posts for placement’ organized by Education Development and Coordination Unit, Kavrepalanchowk at Dhulikhel on Wednesday. The coordination unit had fixed and sent posts of 33 successful secondary level teachers to the local levels.
The postings would be made in the designated schools. “Though the local government operation act has enlisted education management responsibility in the domain of local level, the Education Development and Coordination Unit has not submitted the posts details. We urge the coordination unit to submit the list at the earliest possible”, said the chiefs of the local levels univocally. Tok Bahadur Waiba, chair of the Mandan Deupur municipality, said the fulfillment and posting of teachers would be made in the schools within the municipality as per the Education Act and working procedure of the municipality.
The responsibility of teachers’ placement should be given to the local levels, he demanded. Kanchha Lal Jimba, chair of the Mahabharat Rural Municipality, said they have been facing trouble due to lack of teaches’ posts in community schools of the rural area. “We have sufficient numbers of students but there is no single quota of permanent teacher. It is a big problem for local level to manage.
So, the local government should be provided with responsibility to place teachers’ postings in the needed areas”, he added. Bal Bahadur Karki, chief of Education Development and Coordination Unit, Kavrepalanchowk, said the subject-wise teachers’ quota would be sent to the schools as per the request of the local levels.
