Only 20% of paddy plantation by July 6

BUTWAL: Agriculture is the mainstay of the country. Nepali people depend on agriculture which accounts for around 30 percent of GDP.

However, due to the delayed monsoon, only 20 percent of the paddy plantation has taken place in Rupandehi district  by the first week of July this year.

This is not only the problem of Rupandehi, paddy plantation has not taken place much in 12 districts due to the lack of water.

The sources of water have not yet been recharged due to the delayed monsoon, thereby hitting the paddy plantation.
