Senior citizens end agitation



KATHMANDU: A group of senior citizens agitating for eight years demanding to hike old age allowance among others ended their protest on Saturday.

They terminated their protest after the government increased the allowance through the fiscal budget.

The government in the budget for the fiscal year 2019/20 announced Rs 1,000 rise in the monthly allowance from existing Rs 2000.
