Minister Magar stresses on prioritizing sanitation alongside drinking water



KATHMANDU: Minister for Water Supply Bina Magar has said that the campaign of prosperous Nepal can’t be achieved unless drinking water and sanitation are taken side by side.

Saying that the environment is being polluted day by day due to population growth and urbanization, Minister Magar stressed on the need to prioritize sanitation as well.

Inaugurating a drinking water and sanitation fair organized by Municipal Association of Nepal at Basantapur Durbar Square on Saturday, Minister Magar said that the Ministry is planning to announce Nepal an open defecation free country in the coming fiscal year.

She added that the government was working to esnure basic drinking water supply to all population within the coming three years.
