KATHMANDU: A total of 92,356 Nepali youths are appearing for the Korean Language Test (KLT) under the Employment Permit System (EPS) of the Korean government today. The test is being held in Kathmandu and Pokhara on Saturday and Sunday.
According to EPS Korea section, a total of 82,335 people had appeared for the KLT last year. The number has grown to 92,376 this year. Of which, the number of male candidates are 77, 361 and female candidates are 14,995.
“Of the total candidates, 63,489 are appearing test for production manufacturing, 37,669 for assembling and 12, 922 for carpentry,” said Shobhakar Bhandari, an information officer of EPS Section.
Nepal has been sending workers to South Korea under EPS since 2008. Korean government is taking a total of 10, 050 Nepali workers for the year 2020.
Job aspirants aged between 18 and 39 have applied for the Korean jobs. Korea government is a lucrative labor destination. The result of the test will be unveiled by June 28.
