Exploring Spiritual Tourism in Nepal

KATHMANDU: Efforts have begun to exploit the abundant possibilities for spiritual tourism in Nepal. The matter was proposed during the 3rd edition of Himalayan Travel Mart underway in the capital. Accordingly, a trans-border deliberation took place about spiritual tourism in the major session of the conference on Friday.

Renowned religious preachers from Nepal, India and Bhutan delivered lectures on the occasion. Indian spiritual guru Shree Shivakripananda Swami gave a special lecture. Experts LB Bhanu Sharma, Bhaidhadhara Acharya, Mahayogi Sridhar Rana Rimpoche presented views on the spiritual tourism and possibilities in Nepal. Spirituality from the Top of the World and Spiritual Tourism in the Himalaya were the session leads for the deliberations.

In other sessions of the mega event, founder of World Trail Network Galeo Saintz, International Airlines Ambassador Nancy Rivads and former Secretary Dr Sudha Sharma shared their experiences about responsible and sustainable tourism while Chair of Travel Bloggers Association Janicke Hansen, travel expert William Vazquez and communications expert Paul Pruangkarn talked about new trends in tourism and hospitality sector.

Some 700 delegates from 43 countries are taking part in the event organized with the major slogan of ‘speed of the Himalaya’. The four-day travel mart concludes tomorrow. RSS
