KATHMANDU: Lawmakers have urged the government to form an agro-product price determination commission.

In today’s meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR), lawmakers asked the government to form a commission that would allow the farmers to fix the price of agro-products. They said the farmers should be involved in the pricing of their produces.

Lawmaker Hridayesh Tripathi suggested the government to form the agro-product price determination commission at the earliest.

He said that the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development should address the problems of the middle-persons or agents fleecing the farmers and the consumers.
