Bhutan enters SAG men’s football final

KATHMANDU: Bhutan has entered the final of the men’s football under the ongoing South Asian Games (SAG).

Bhutan inched closer to the gold medal after defeating Sri Lanka 3-0 at the match played at Dashrath Stadium on Saturday evening.

It is the historic achievement for Bhutan that has been exiting the competition from the group stage in earlier editions.

Bhutan has got nine points from four matches and has topped the points table. Now, Bhutan will compete against the winner of Nepal vs Bangladesh match for the gold medal.

Nepal is taking on Bangladesh on Sunday. Nepal needs to at least secure a stalemate against Bangladesh to book its place for the final.

Nepal is second in the points tally garnering seven points as Bangladesh has got four points.
