KAVREPALANCHOWK: Finance Minister Dr. Yuba Raj Khatiwada has called for the proper use of Panchkhal-based under-construction Special Economic Zone (SEZ).

During his visit to the construction site today, the Minister was of the view that it should not have a fate like the IT Park.

He took time to urge local representatives to show their promptness to complete the project based in Panchkhal municipality-8 on time, pledging no budget constraint towards that end.

He expressed his concern over the wretched condition of IT Park in Banepa which cost millions of rupees.” The Park remains unused which is really a matter of great concern.”

The Park spreading in 257 ropani of land is equipped with two big administrative buildings, four advanced residential buildings and other buildings: altogether nine, but all are unused.

Sharing about the government plan of widening a road from Dhulikhel towards China, he added that it would help make the future of Panchkhal bright.

He suggested that local representatives should pay attention to ensure a safe atmosphere within the SEZ.

Stating that the government could not operate the SEZ alone, he insisted on the need for cooperation from local governments. The federal government could fund an approach road to the Zone in coordination with the state government, according to him.

The Finance Minister also directed the contractor to complete the 150-million project within the agreed time.
