22 candidates file nomination for Kaski-2 by-elections

POKHARA: A total of 22 candidates have registered their candidacy for the post of House of Representatives (HoR) member from Kaski constituency-2 in the upcoming by-elections.

The post has been fallen vacant since the demise of the then Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Rabindra Adhikari on February 27 this year.

The Election Commission of Nepal is going to conduct by-election on November 30 this year to fill as many as four dozens vacant posts in HoR, Province Assembly and local units.

Bidya Bhattarai of Nepal Communist Party (NCP), Nepali Congress (NC)’s Khemraj Poudel and Chandra Bahadur Ranabhat (Nepali Congress BP), Socialist Party’s Dharma Raj Gurung, Sajha Party’s Rajani KC, Rastriya Prajatantra Party’s Rom Bahadur Bhandari registered their respective nominations for the posts, according to the District Election Office, Kaski.

Similarly, Nepal Communist Party (ML)’s Teknath Bhandari, Rastriya Janamukti Party’s Purna Bahadur Rana, Deshbhakta Samaj’s Bir Bahadur Bishwakarma and Rastriya Prajatantra Party (Unified)’s Ganga Malla have also filed their nominations.

Other independent candidates to register their nominations to contest in the by-election for HoR post are Umanath Gautam, Kamaljung Kunwar, Jamuna Sharma, Deepak Regmi, Nawaraj Bastola, Purushottam Khanal, Yagya Prasad Pangeni, Ran Bahadur Damai, Laxmi Kumari Bhujel, Sunil Bahadur Koirala and Sunil Bhusal.
