KATHMANDU: The Office of the Chief Returning Officer has been established in various districts in preparation for the by-election to be held for the vacant posts of the member of the House of Representatives and State Assembly, and the local levels.
The by-election is taking place on November 30. The Election Commission stated that 48 offices of the Chief Returning Officer and Returning Officer have been set up in 37 districts in the country.
The by-election is taking place for one member of the House of Representatives, three members of the State Assembly, one Mayor of a Sub-metropolitan City, and three chairpersons, one vice-chairperson and 43 ward chairs of Rural Municipality.
The nomination of candidacy for the member of the House of Representatives and State Assembly is taking place today while that for the vacant posts of members of the local levels will take place on November 13.
