Mayor Shakya urges for no obstruction in dust-free campaign

KATHMANDU: Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) Bidya Sundar Shakya has expressed concern over the obstructions created in the blacktopping of Khulamanch-based bus park area for a temporary period.

The blacktopping, he said, had begun for a provisional period to support the campaign for building the dust-free Kathmandu.

According to him, the campaign was part of the preparations for Chinese President Xi Jinping’s Nepal visit since the area has dust pollution.

The blacktopping work in the bus park area was halted in the presence of Nepali Congress (NC) leader Bhimsen Das Pradhan, and Kathmandu metropolis deputy mayor Hari Prabha Khadgi on Sunday.

Mayor Shakya dismissed plans of constructing any permanent structures along the bus park area.
