KATHMANDU: The Taleju Temple at Hanumandhoka in Kathmandu has been opened for devotees to pay homage today on the ninth day of Dashain festival – the Maha Nawami.

The day is being observed in Kathmandu and elsewhere with much fervor and gaiety by worshipping Goddess Durga Bhawani.

It is observed as an important part of the 10-day Dashain festival.

Worships are performed to Durga Bhawani by offered jamaras (sprouts of grains) the goddesses at different temples.

Likewise, today people recite the Durga Saptasati and Devi Strota scriptures in the temples.
