ISLAMABAD: The National Security Committee (NSC) of Pakistan has decided to downgrade its diplomatic relations with India and suspend all bilateral trade, Pakistan’s media reports have said.
The decision to this effect was made in light of India’s ‘recent actions’ in Kashmir, reports said.
Pakistan’s top security body’s meeting, presided over by Prime Minister Imran Khan, also decided to ‘review’ Pakistan’s bilateral arrangements with New Delhi, and take the issue to the United Nations (UN), including its Security Council.
The meeting also decided to observe Pakistan’s Independence Day on August 14 in solidarity with what has been said as ‘brave Kashmiris, their struggle for right of self-determination’.
It has also decided to observe August 15, India’s Independence Day, as a ‘Black Day. (Agencies)
