Govt forms taskforce formed to study NAC status

KATHMANDU: The government on Wednesday formed a five-member task force to identify issues plaguing the Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC).

A meeting of Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation held in Kathmandu today formed the task force headed by former Secretary at the ministry Sushil Ghimire.

Members in the committee include Captain Shudhir Shumsher Rai, chartered accountant (CA) Subodh Kumar Karna, management expert Dim Prasad Poudel, and Joint-Secretary at the ministry Buddhisagar Lamichhane.

The taskforce is entrusted to submit its report conducting a SWAT analysis of the government-owned airlines and furnishing the suggestions.

The taskforce is also entrusted to analyze various reports submitted to the airlines corporation for its reforms as well as to conduct study of its financial situation. The taskforce will also identify its managerial, organizational and legal issues.
