Disney Star Cameron Boyce dies at 20

Actor Cameron Boyce, best known for his roles in Disney Channel’s Descendants and Grown Ups with Adam Sandler has died at the age of 20.

A spokesperson for the family said his seizure was the result of an “ongoing medical condition” which he was being treated for.

“It is with a profoundly heavy heart that we report that this morning we lost Cameron… The world is now undoubtedly without one of its brightest lights, but his spirit will live on through the kindness and compassion of all who knew and loved him,” the family’s statement read.

“We are utterly heartbroken and ask for privacy during this immensely difficult time as we grieve the loss of our precious son and brother,” it added.

Cameron shot to fame in the Disney Channel TV show Jessie, starring as Luke Ross alongside the eponymous Jessie Prescott, played by Debby Ryan.

He was best known for his role in the Disney Channel TV movie franchise Descendants – which follows the stories of the offspring of famous fairytale characters – in which he played Carlos, the son of Cruella De Vil.

“From a young age, Cameron Boyce dreamed of sharing his extraordinary artistic talents with the world… He was an incredibly talented performer, a remarkably caring and thoughtful person and, above all else, he was a loving and dedicated son, brother, grandson and friend. He will be dearly missed.”
