Ultralight aircraft overshoots runway, crashes at Pokhara Airport  



POKHARA: An ultralight aircraft, Gyrocopter, has crashed at Pokhara Airport at 1.45 pm on Tuesday.

The ultralight craft crashed as it overshot the runway while landing. The gyrocopter had landed after taking a tourist for a sight-seeing around Pokhara city, said Kashinath Poudel, the administrative officer at the Pokhara Airport.

According to Poudel, the pilot of the ultralight aircraft, French national Capt Eric and a tourist Anis Bhattachan were on board. Both are safe.

Pokhara Airport office stated that the gyrocopter has been slightly damaged in the mishap. Its wing has broken and cockpit windshield shattered.
