KATHMANDU: Amidst obstruction from the main opposition party Nepali Congress (NC), Parliament on Tuesday endorsed the government’s policies and program for the next fiscal year through majority votes.

NC lawmakers stood from their respective seats to obstruct the proceeding following remarks from Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli that he will answer ignoring the questions raised on anger and frustration.

Despite obstruction, the policies and programs were put to vote and was subsequently endorsed through a voice voting. An overwhelming majority of the lawmakers in the Parliament rejected the amendment proposals.

Earlier, PM Oli responded to the questions raised by lawmakers over policies and programs.

President Bidya Devi Bhandari, on the behalf of the government, had presented the policies and programs for the fiscal year 2019/20 on Friday.
