Rautahat District Court to resume recording Alam’s statements on Thursday



KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) leader and suspended lawmaker Mohammad Aftab Alam has been sent to police custody on Wednesday as the court will continue recording his statement on Thursday.

Alam is said to have furnished answers to 32 questions on Wednesday, according to District Court Rautahat sources.

Recordkeeper Gunaraj Parajuli at Rautahat District Court said that Alam has been sent to custody and the court will resume recording his statement again on Thursday.

A case demanding life imprisonment against Alam was filed on Monday for three counts of crime.

The District Attorney Office, Rautahat had filed the case against Alam for the production of explosives and offenses related to the murder. The office had filed the case against 11 individuals including Alam.

10 persons including Alam have been charged with burning those injured a bomb explosion in a brick kiln. One has been accused of assisting the crime.

Alam’s cadres were reportedly making a bomb following his order and were injured when the bomb accidentally went off. Seven persons were killed in the bombing.
