President Bhandari offers prayers at various temples



KATHMANDU: President Bidya Devi Bhandari on Sunday visited various goddess shrines and temples in the Kathmandu Valley to pay homage to the goddess on the occasion of Mahaastami festival.

Mahaastami is the eighth day of the 10-day long Bada Dashain festival, the biggest festival of Nepali Hindus.

President Bhandari offered prayers at Maitidevi, Guheshwari, Bhadrakali, Naxal Bhagawati, Kalikasthan, Bijeshwari, Shova Bhagawati, Sankata Bhagawati, and Naradevi temples.

She also received tika and prasad from the priests.
