Contempt of court case filed against PM KP Sharma Oli

KATHMANDU: A contempt of court case has been filed at Supreme Court (SC) against Prime Minister KP Sharma for failing to implement the court’s earlier order.

Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation Padma Aryal, Minister for Forest Shakti Basnet, Chief Secretary Lok Darshan Regmi, Secretary at the Office of Prime Minister and Council of Ministers Dilliram Ghimire, Land Management Secretary Gopinath Mainali, Gandaki State Chief Minister Prithvi Subba Gurung and State Minister Bikash Lamshal also have been named defendants in the case.

Responding on the case, a single bench of Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana on Tuesday ordered to retrieve a file regarding the court’s earlier order.

Advocate Khagendra Subedi had moved the apex court after the court’s decision to demolish illegal infrastructures built on the land of Few Lake was not implement.

A joint bench of Justices Om Prakash Mishra and Sapana Pradhan Malla had made the order on April 29, 2018.
