China grants 5G licenses to three operators

HONG KONG: China has granted commercial licenses to operate 5G to three telecommunication network operators in the country, media reports said.

The decision by China’s tech industry ministry comes on the heels on a teach war with the United States that lead to blacklisting of Chinese telecommunication giant Huawei

China Mobile, China Unicom, China Telecom and China Broadcasting Network were each awarded a license to run commercial 5G mobile services.

While South Korea, the US, Australia and the UK have launched initial commercial 5G services.
