At least 41 die as Russian airbus crash-lands in Moscow

KATHMANDU: At least 41 people have died after a Russian Aeroflot jet with 83 people including the crew on board  burst into flames while making an emergency landing at Sheremetyevo airport in Moscow, BBC reported.

According to Russian media, two children and a flight attendant were among those killed.

Veronika Skvortsova, head of Russia’s ministry of health, said in a statement that six patients are in hospital – three of whom are in a critical condition.

Aeroflot, Russia’s national carrier, said the plane was forced to return to the airport “for technical reasons”, but did not elaborate.
