Five members of a family arrested with illegal currency notes

KATHMANDU: Five members of the same family were arrested from Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) with illegal currency notes.

Police took hold of the team leaving for Bangkok with the illegal currency notes during a checkup.

The arrested are Subas Shrestha, 48, and his wife Umadevi Shrestha. Police also held their four-year-old and 14-year-old daughters and an 11-year-old son.

SSP Sandeep Bhandari said they were leaving for Bangkok through a flight of Thai Airways. Police recovered 21,150 Thai Baht, Euro 1,380, USD 10,000 and Chinese Yuan 80,000.
