13th SAG: Nepal sets 237-run target for Bhutan



KATHMANDU: Nepal has set a 237-run target for Bhutan in the Twenty20 men’s cricket tournament of the 13th South Asian Games (SAG) underway in Kirtipur on Thursday.

Invited to bat first after losing the toss, Nepal notched up 236 runs at the cost of 3 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Skipper Gyanendra Malla top-scored with 107 runs becoming the second-century scorer in the history of Nepali cricket. Malla hit nine sixes and five fours off 53 balls.

Similarly, Paras scored a half-century including nine fours and one six off 28 balls. Deependra Airee contributed 45 not-out runs.

In reply, Bhutan’s Karma Dorji grabbed two wickets and Tobden Singye took one wicket of Nepal.
