Spokesperson of the party, Bishwo Prakash Sharma, informed that the day to launch the second round of national campaign marks the 106th birth anniversary of BP Koirala.

At a press meet organized to inform media about the awareness drive here Thursday, Spokesperson Sharma shared that two-week-long drive would stress various 15 agenda as party consolidation, contemporary politics, livelihood, and good governance.

A total of 330 central representatives of the party would be mobilized for the nationwide campaign.

On the last day of the campaign, a district-level demonstration would be held. The district-level demonstrations will protest corruption, price hike, social evils, undemocratic bills and bad governance, he added.

According to him, NC was for whetting social dialogues in view of the eroding public trust in government. “What had people from diverse class and caste expected from government and what are they feeling now? What’s their review? What do they expect from NC will be discussed during the dialogues at district and local levels,” he underscored.

The campaign would also raise awareness against social evils as dowry, chhaupadi, girl trafficking, child labor and caste-based discrimination, domestic violence, dialogue, etc.

Another focus of the nationwide drive will be interaction with the conflict victim families.

Even the discussion on NC’s leadership on promulgation of the constitution would be held as part of the campaign, Sharma added.
