Nepal Rastra Bank slashes ATM withdrawal limit

KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has decreased the daily withdrawal limit from ATM after Chinese hackers siphon millions of rupees hacking ATMs in Nepal.

The central bank issued a circular to banks on Thursday directing them to set the daily withdrawal limit at Rs 60,000. Earlier, a customer was allowed to withdraw up to Rs 100,000 in a day.

Likewise, per transaction limit has also been decreased to Rs 20,000. Earlier, the limit was set at Rs 25,000.
