India beats Kuwait by seven wickets in U-19 Asia Cup

KATHMANDU: India has made a winning start to the ACC U-19 Asia Cup underway in Sri Lanka on Thursday defeating Kuwait by seven wickets (D/L method).

Chasing down the 111-run target set by Kuwait, India went past the target losing three wickets in 19.1 overs. Arjun Azad top-scored for India at 60 runs.

Earlier, in the match cut short to 23 overs, Kuwait made 110 runs on the board losing seven wickets. For Kuwait, Meet Bhavsar made 28 runs and Gokul Kumar contributed 25 runs.

For India, Purnank Tyagi and Aakash Singh took three wickets each. With the win, India has garnered two points.
