Chemical castration to child molesters in Albama

MONTGOMERY: Child molesters over the age of 21 who have abused a child younger than 13 will be castrated chemically. The US state of Alabama has passed a bill that allows chemical castration of child molesters.

The bill, known as HB379, would require convicted sex offenders undergo chemical castration before leaving prison. The proposed law would act as a deterrence as well as a punishment and would prevent the offenders from harming more children in the future, reported WIAT-TV in Birmingham.

The bill is awaiting the signature of State Governor Kay Ivey. The proposed law would be activated when the abuse victim falls between age seven and 13. For children younger than seven, there is already a law barring the molesters from getting parole. (Agencies)
