MUGLING: The unregulated excavation and pollution in the Trishuli River has posed threat for rafting business in the river.
According to Kamal Thakuri, proprietor of Adventure River Trail, the excavation of sands, and rocks from Trishuli River as well as dumping of garbage have posed threat to rafting in the river.
The Trishuli River is currently murky due to uncontrolled excavations at various places, he said.
Heavy machines are taken to the river for excavating rocks. According to him, the change in natural tides has been a risk to rafting.
Since the river has been dirty, it has resulted in the decline of the number of foreign tourists visiting Trishuli for rafting.
Similarly, Milan Gurung, a rafting guide, echoed Thakuri’s voice saying that the increasing pollution in Trishuli River are detrimental to the rafting.
