Nepal elected vice-chair of INBAR

KATHMANDU: Nepal has been elected unanimously as Vice-Chair of the 12th Council Session of the International Bamboo and Rattan Organization (INBAR) at the 11th Council Session of the intergovernmental body held in Beijing recently.

Current Vice-Chair Cameroon has been unanimously elected as Chair (2019-21).

On the occasion, Nepal’s Ambassador to China Leela Mani Paudyal said Nepal is committed to INBAR’s goals, mission, and priorities as contained in the INBAR Establishment Agreement and the INBAR’s Strategy 2015-2030.

He said that Nepal looked forward to working closely with all member states in fulfilling INBAR’s mandate.

INBAR is an international intergovernmental body set up in 1997 with its Secretariat located in Beijing.

Nepal is one of its nine founding member states. The organization has currently 46 members.
