Jhamsikhel Street Festival 2019 on Saturday



LALITPUR: Jhamsikhel Youth Club is organizing the 4th Jhamsikhel Street Festival 2019 on December 7 to mark the start of Visit Nepal 2020 (VN 2020).

VN 2020 is a government initiative to bring in two million tourists in 2020.

The spokesperson of the club Kaushal Ghimire informed that they are organizing the festival for the fourth time.

Minister of Home Affairs Ram Bahadur Thapa is scheduled to inaugurate the festival, according to Ghimire claiming that the timing of the festival was significant as it was being held on the eve of VN 2020.

The street festival would have attractions including Rock concert featuring Anuprastha, Mukti and Revival, Cobweb and Robin and the New Revolution.

Likewise, the festival would feature Lok Dohori singers including Member of National Assembly Komal Oli, Prakash Saput and team, and Prag Purna Nepali.

Standup comedy performances by artists such as Purna Thapa, Raja Rajendra, Ravi Dangol, Surendra K.C., and Shiva Shankar Rijal will also be featured.

According to the organizers, the festival will have handicrafts, food, and face painting stalls along with bingo and carnival games for the children.
