MCC sets 202-run target for Nepal

KATHMANDU: Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) has set a target of 202 runs for host Nepal in a 50-over cricket match underway at TU cricket ground in Kirtipur on Monday.

Electing to bat first after winning the toss, MCC notched up 201 runs in 39.2 overs. Will Rhodes top-scored with 54 runs while  Billy Godleman hit a half-century with 52 runs.  Similarly, Callum Jackon and Alex Thompson scored 35 and 11 runs, respectively.

Nepal’s Pawan Sarraf and Lalit Narayan grabbed four wickets each of MCC, restricting it to 201 runs.

Outgoing captain Paras Khadka, leg spinner Sandeep Lamichhane, and fast bowler Sompal Kami are not playing in the cricket match today.

MCC is currently on a tour in Nepal and is playing across multiple formats against the Nepali side in Kathmandu.

Paras Khadka is not in the team while Sandeep and Sompal are not playing today.

Gyanendra Malla is leading the Nepali side across all formats. However, Paras Khadka, the former captain, has been named in the 50-over squad only.
