NCP picks governors for seven provinces

KATHMANDU: Nepal Communist Party (NCP)  has recommended the names of governors for seven provinces.

NCP Secretariat meeting held on Monday picked Amik Sherchan, Govinda Kalauni, Bishnu Prasai, Som Nath Adhikari Pyasi, Tilak Pariyar, Dharma Nath Yadav and Sharmila Tripathi as governors for seven provinces, Bishnu Poudel, general secretary of NCP told Khabarhub.

A cabinet meeting to be held later today will formally decide who will head which province.

Earlier, on Sunday, President Bidya Devi Bhandari relieved the governors of their posts in accordance with Article 165 (1) (b) of the constitution.

A cabinet meeting held at Baluwatar yesterday recommended President Bhandari to this effect. The Governors had been appointed during the government led by Nepali Congress.
