NCP secretariat meeting taking place to pick governors

KATHMANDU: Nepal Communist Party (NCP) is holding a secretariat meeting on Monday to pick the governors of seven provinces.

The secretariat meeting called to finalize the names of the governors on Sunday evening did not strike a deal due to which the scheduled cabinet meeting was deferred.

President Bidya Devi Bhandari relieved the governors of their posts in accordance with Article 165 (1) (b) of the constitution.

A cabinet meeting held at Baluwatar yesterday recommended President Bhandari to this effect. The Governors had been appointed during the government led by Nepali Congress.
