At least 13 die after a blast in Punjab firecracker factory

NEW DELHI: At least 13 people have died and around 50 are feared trapped after a blast in a firecracker factory in the Indian state of Punjab’s Gurdaspur today.

Fire tenders are standby at the spot.

Police, disaster management, fire brigade have been conducting rescue operations at the site.

Likewise, in another such incident of massive fire and blast on August 31, more than 13 workers were killed and 72 injured as multiple gas cylinders exploded at a chemical factory in Maharashtra’s Dhule, police said. (Agencies)
