Do not politicize education sector: Chief Minister Gurung

DAMAULI: Chief Minister of Gandaki state, Prithvi Subba Gurung has emphasized the need of distancing the education sector with politics.

He said that education sector should not be made the center for appointing cadres of political parties.

Inaugurating the 33rd anniversary function of Adikabi Bhanubhakta Campus at Bhadgaon of Vyas Municipality-1 on Wednesday, Chief Minister Gurung stated that Nepal’s education sector has been declining as educational institutions have become centers of recruiting political party cadres and their loyalists.

He emphasized the need for ending the practice of appointing teachers, office-bearers, and professors on the basis of political affiliation while stressing on impartial appointments on the basis of qualification and expertise.
