Barcelona offers PSG seven players for Neymar transfer

LONDON: Barcelona offered seven players to PSG in order to sign Neymar and please Lionel Messi, according to reports.

Neymar spent the summer transfer window sulking at the Parc des Princes amid his determination to return to the team he left-back in the summer of 2017.

But the transfer window shut on Monday with the Samba star now stuck in France until January at the earliest.

However, six of the seven did not have any interest in making the move to Ligue 1.

Samuel Umtiti, Ivan Rakitic, Ousmane Dembele, Arthur Melo, Jean-Claud Todibo and Nelson Semedo all supposedly resisted Barcelona’s attempts to include them in a deal.

Philippe Coutinho was, however, the only one open to joining PSG.

The report adds that Barcelona wanted to sign Neymar from PSG because they wanted to please Messi.

Messi and the Brazilian played alongside each other when Barcelona won the treble under Luis Enrique in 2015.
