NA deliberates on Appropriation Bill 2076

KATHMANDU: The National Assembly (NA) has begun deliberations on appropriation headings related to the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, the Ministry of Health and Population, the Office of the President, the National Planning Commission (NPC), and the Office of the Vice President, under the Appropriation Bill 2076 on Thursday.

Parliamentary party whip of Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Khimlal Bhattarai defended the government’s move saying that the government has shut doors for smugglers, including the gold smugglers, whom he claimed are in the Central Jail at Sundhara.

Bhattarai argued that the government has been focusing its attention to ensure that the local governments and the federal government moved ahead strongly by focusing on the construction of the big projects.

Nepali Congress lawmaker Ramesh Jung Rayamajhi proposed a reduction of Rs 100 in the expenditure amount related to the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, and the Ministry of Defense under the Appropriation Bill 2076.

Rayamajhi also demanded the government to become more serious about the functioning of the Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC).
