‘Do you believe in UFOs?’- China hints for a missile test



BEIJING: Most probably China has carried a new missile test.  China has hinted the test through a cryptic message about UFOs and a picture of a missile launcher. Images of an object streaking toward the sky are trending on Chinese social media.

The People’s Liberation Army does not announce new missile tests, but drops hints about it in cryptic manner. Chinese military is getting modernized under the leadership of President Xi Jinping and working over to ramp up combat capabilities.

A footage circulated on China’s Weibo micro-blogging service of an object traveling up into the sky, leaving a white trail behind it, over the Bohai Sea was released on Sunday.

It triggered a guess work among the internet users what actually is this: UFO or the test of a new underwater ballistic missile or land to sky missile.

Then, the Chinese navy dropped the hint on its Weibo account with a picture of a missile being launched from underwater heading off into the blue sky above, with a similar caption: “Do you believe in UFOs?”

Defense publication Janes said on its website that it might be China’s next generation submarine-launched ballistic missile, the JL-3. (Agencies)
