PYONGYANG: A North Korean official reportedly ‘purged’ or sent to a labor camp was seen attending a concert alongside Kim Jong-un, media reports have said.

Kim Yong-chol was on Friday reported having been sent to a re-education camp as a punishment.

However, he was seen at a musical performance with other officials last weekend.

Kim Yong-chol, who was a former spymaster, has been dubbed as Kim Jong-un’s right-hand man.

Meanwhile, reports had earlier said that Kim Hyok-chol, a former North Korean envoy to the US and a key personality in talks ahead of the US-North Korea summit in February, was executed at the airport in Pyongyang. (Agencies)
