World Muslims are celebrating ‘Eid’

MECCA: Muslims across the world are celebrating the start of the Islamic holiday of ‘Eid Al Fitr’ – an occasion for family gathering and festivities. The holiday marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan during which devotees fast from sunrise to sunset.

Like before, Muslim world is divided on when actually the Eid starts. Eid celebration is dependent upon the sight of the new moon seen through naked eyes.

Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar and the UAE start Eid on Tuesday. But, countries like Egypt, Syria, Jordan and others will celebrate it on Wednesday. (Agencies)
