KATHMANDU: Far West State registered a consolation win in the ongoing third edition of the Prime Minister Cup One-Day Men’s Cricket Tournament on Tuesday at Mulpani Cricket Stadium defeating Gandaki State by four wickets. Far West State is already out of the competition.
Far West achieved the 90-run target set by Gandaki State in 29.2 overs losing six wickets. Aakash Chand made 29 runs while Narendra Saud and Lokesh Bahl contributed 29 and 23 runs respectively.
Kishor Mahato of Gandaki State grabbed three wickets as Bipin Khatri took two wickets. Dipesh Shrestha grabbed one wicket in his kitty.
Elected into bat first after winning the toss, Gandaki State managed to make 89 runs in 20.4 overs losing all wickets.
For the team, Rahul Sharma hit highest 41 runs, while Kishor Mahato 14 and Akash Thapa 12.
For Far West State, Binod Lama took five wickets, and Mahesh Adhikari and Captain Sher Malla two wickets each. Likewise, Narendra Saud claimed one wicket.
