SURKHET: Minister for Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperatives Bimala KC has said that the cooperatives institutions need to focus on their share holders rather than on the proprietors.
Speaking a State-level seminar on cooperatives in Birendranagar on Friday, she said the State government had introduced the State cooperatives Act in order to end anomalies and aberrations in the cooperatives sector. Stating that the government had provided 70 per cent grant in the programmes run by the cooperatives, Minister KC shared that one village each in every district in the state would be made a cooperatives model village.
For this one hundred million rupees have been allocated. On a different note, Minister KC said the impact of employees adjustment is posing difficulties in the implementation of the budget in Karnali state. Central President of National Cooperatives Federation Keshav Prasad Badal said the laws and budget of the State should be cooperatives-friendly.
Local level government heads, administrative heads, cooperatives campaigners and representative of federal and state governments are taking part in the two-day seminar on the role of local level in promotion of the cooperatives sector.
